Yes of course. But you may not list the same ip-address more than
once, nor list the same name more than once (in general - some systems
do something sane when an ip-address is listed multiple times, but
others just ignore the additional entries).

My guess is the problem is that RMI is trying to reverse map the
ip-address, hence the reason for having an entry for your non-loopback
ip-address.
