You could also try just brute force: -Xmx2048m or -Xmx4096m

I didn't know about the RIO parser.. We'll have to try it.

How large are the rdf/xml files? (bytes, rdf statements, xml elements)

I've never loaded via rdf/xml, but I've loaded 100M statements using
itql inserts (with disk usage > 100GB) with normal heap size (-Xmx128M
or so). So I'm wondering if there's a problem with the xml parser.
