[Mulgara-dev] errors restoring from backup

howdy!

we're using mulgara 2.1.4.1 and XA 1.0

we tried to restore from a backup yesterday, and kept getting errors:

Error running query 'restore <local:///topazproject> from

in an offline conversation with paul, he suggested that there was a
timeout.

however, i was skeptical because
-iirc, we see a reference to "timeout" in the error log when restores
timeout
-we had set a >16 hour timeout in our tql shell, which had not been
reached
-we got the same error - referring to the same file - on multiple
attempts, with different time intervals: the first time after 3 hours,
the second after 2 hours

we were able to restore the backup to XA 1.1

later, we were able to restore the backup to XA 1.0 after wiping the XA
1.0 datastore and starting from scratch.

maybe there was some corruption (mulgara or even disk level?) in that
one file that was causing problems? any other ideas?
