Ah, this is a recent addition.  I didn't think to check what would
happen if you didn't have Subversion available!  I don't even own a
computer (short of a PDA) which doesn't have Subversion installed.  It
should definitely fall back to setting the "revision" number to
something local if you don't have it.

Thanks for picking up on it.

I'll hassle the guy who wrote this patch to come up with a solution.
Are you OK with it for a couple of days?
