Not to diverge the topic even more, but Sesame 1.x had
similar problems when trying to adopt SPARQL and are
currently in beta-stage of their new query parsers and
engines (2.0-beta3).  If any one in interested I
suggest taking a look at their new query-algebra model
as it is language neutral and could give mulgara the
same language neutrality benefit.
